Job summary

Siemens AG Smart Infrastructure in Wendell, NC, seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design manufacturing-ready mechanical packages for a made-to-order environment, leveraging NX and Teamcenter X.

You will guide design engineers, develop training plans and design guidelines, and own CAD standards and naming conventions while collaborating with manufacturing to improve manufacturability and delivery performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
• 5+ years mechanical design engineering experience with production-ready 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs in a complex configured environment.
• Advanced 3D CAD skills including complex assembly modeling, drawing creation, tolerancing, and DFM.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and knowledge transfer to mechanical design engineers without direct supervisory responsibility.
• Create and maintain training plans, work instructions, design checklists, and guidelines to improve team capability and consistency.
• Own mechanical naming conventions, CAD standards, reusable content, and the governed mechanical part library in Teamcenter.
