Job summary

BWXT in Euclid, Ohio is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership and support for product/design engineering tasks in a team environment, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion to meet customer expectations.

This on-site role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, knowledge of stress analysis, familiarity with engineering drawings and GD&T, and strong written and verbal communication. DOE clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of stress analysis.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing.
• Strong verbal and technical writing skills.
• Able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
• Experience with finite element analysis (ANSYS) preferred.
• Experience with Pro/E Creo CAD software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate hardware discrepancies to contract requirements and design integrity.
• Perform and review structural and mechanical analyses using software and standard engineering principles.
• Prepare and review technical reports for customer submittal and approval.
• Generate and maintain computer models and drawings of component parts and assemblies.
• Interface with customers, engineers, and other departments to support objectives.
• Other engineering tasks and responsibilities as required.
