Job summary

BB&E is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support NAVFAC Atlantic (LANT) in Norfolk, VA. The role involves delivering mechanical designs for HVAC, piping, and control systems on government facilities, with focus on large-scale projects and compliance with DoD/Navy standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience, ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree, and familiarity with Autodesk tools. PE license is preferred and eligibility for security clearances may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program is required.
• Minimum 5 years of professional mechanical engineering design experience for facilities.
• Experience with DoD/Navy design standards and applicable codes.
• Knowledge of Autodesk software and DoD computer systems used by the command.
• Ability to present analyses in writing and orally.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for government facilities, including HVAC, piping, and controls.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, and computations for new construction and renovations.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, and other disciplines.
• Lead teams and coordinate work packages for NAVFAC Atlantic projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and applicable regulations.
