Job summary

BB&E in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support NAVFAC Atlantic. You will contribute to the design of mechanical systems for government facilities, including HVAC, piping, energy and utility networks, and ATFP considerations.

The role requires a ABET‑accredited Mechanical Engineering degree, 5+ years of relevant experience, and knowledge of DoD/Navy standards. Autodesk software, MS Office, budgeting and project leadership skills are highly valued.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree
• 5+ years of professional mechanical engineering experience
• Familiarity with DoD/Navy specs and ASME/IPC/IMC codes
• Experience with government facilities design and construction

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing, and energy systems.
• Ensure compliance with NAVFAC and DoD standards.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams and support field surveys.
• Prepare design calculations, drawings, and present findings.
