Job summary

BB&E is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support NAVFAC Atlantic (LANT) in Norfolk, VA. The role focuses on mechanical design for HVAC, plumbing, and control systems within government facilities, including complex utility systems and energy efficiency studies.

The candidate should have 5+ years of facility design experience, a BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, and knowledge of DoD/Navy standards. PE license preferred and experience with Autodesk software is desired.

Qualifications

  • Registration as Professional Engineer in mechanical engineering is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of professional mechanical engineering experience in facilities design for new construction and renovations.
  • ABET-accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • Knowledge of DoD/Navy specs, ASME/ASHRAE/IPC/IMC/BPVC standards and codes.
  • Ability to coordinate teams and present engineered designs and results.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical design for HVAC, plumbing, and control systems in government facilities.
  • Develop drawings, specifications, and documents for major projects.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and present analyses and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD/Navy standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
