Job summary

Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp., is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Minneapolis, MN to contribute to high‑level product design for motors, generators and magnetic drives. You will support orders from proposal through design, development, testing and field service, collaborating with engineering teams to drive best practices.

Responsibilities include maintaining design standards, leading project plans, and providing technical input for planning and product

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering required; machine design emphasis preferred.
  • 2–3+ years in design/development of large motors/generators.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD; strong MS Office skills.
  • Experience with structural and thermal analysis (ANSYS/CFX).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains Design Standards to govern mechanical design methods and reduce lead times.
  • Manages project plans for product development aligned with the company strategy.
  • Contributes to financial and capital planning and product development input.
  • May supervise engineers, drafters and support personnel assigned to projects.
  • Reviews customer specifications and visits sites to apply machine design tech.
  • Directs standardized models to reduce design cost and time for products and systems.
  • Provides technical support to other departments.
