Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp. in Minneapolis, MN, seeks a Field Service Engineer I to install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair large industrial AC motors and generators at customer sites worldwide, with potential international travel.

The role requires hands-on technical work and the ability to work independently within a global team. You will perform field tests, document service reports, support quotes, and assist training.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent training.
• 0–2 years of field service experience on rotating equipment.
• Experience with large industrial AC motors and generators.
• Able to travel extensively, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform field services for large industrial AC motors and generators, including installation and commissioning.
• Conduct field tests such as insulation resistance testing, surge testing, vibration analysis, and electrical testing.
• Promote strong customer relationships and resolve service requests.
• Provide after-hours technical support via phone.
• Complete daily updates, field service reports, time cards, and expense reports.
• Propose repair options and other products, deliver quotes, and close sales as needed.
• Assist in training new team members and service partners.
• Maintain safety compliance and complete TWIC and OSHA 40-hour training.
• Travel up to 100%, with up to 50% international travel.
