GTI Fabrication in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop mechanical systems for modular infrastructure projects. You will create manufacturable designs, detailed drawings, equipment layouts, and production documentation while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Up to 10% travel may be required. The role emphasizes design for manufacturing, tolerance analysis, and fabrication drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience designing fabricated structures, mechanical assemblies, or industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Experience creating manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design structural frames, enclosures, weldments, sheet metal assemblies, and equipment layouts.
• Develop mechanical designs that support fit, function, serviceability, installation, and transportation.
• Create fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering documentation; perform sizing and tolerance analysis.
• Support design reviews, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to improve quality and production efficiency; work with manufacturing teams to resolve fit-up, tolerance, and assembly issues.
