Job summary

GTI Fabrication seeks a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop mechanical systems for modular infrastructure projects. You will produce manufacturable designs, detailed drawings, equipment layouts and production documentation while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams.

Up to 10% travel may be required. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years of design experience are required; proficiency with SolidWorks and manufacturing drawings is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience designing fabricated structures, mechanical assemblies, or industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Experience creating manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design structural frames, enclosures, weldments, sheet metal assemblies, and equipment layouts.
• Develop designs that support fit, function, serviceability, installation, and transportation.
• Support integration of cooling equipment, piping, mechanical components, and electrical systems.
• Create fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering documentation.
• Perform component sizing, tolerance analysis, and basic engineering calculations.
• Support design reviews, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to improve quality and production efficiency.
• Work with manufacturing teams to resolve fit-up, tolerance, and assembly issues.
• Support engineering changes and continuous product improvement.

Position Overview

GTI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design and development of mechanical systems for modular infrastructure projects. This role works closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to create manufacturable designs, detailed drawings, equipment layouts, and production documentation. May require up to 10% travel.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Design

• Design structural frames, enclosures, weldments, sheet metal assemblies, and equipment layouts
• Develop mechanical designs that support fit, function, serviceability, installation, and transportation
• Support integration of cooling equipment, piping, mechanical components, and electrical systems

Engineering Documentation & Analysis

• Create fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering documentation
• Perform component sizing, tolerance analysis, and basic engineering calculations
• Support design reviews, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting

Manufacturing Support

• Apply Design for Manufacturing principles to improve quality and production efficiency
• Work with manufacturing teams to resolve fit-up, tolerance, and assembly issues
