Job summary

SLB New Energy & Industrial (NEI) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the New Product Development team, focusing on modular data center infrastructure and advanced cooling solutions. You will design, prototype, test, and commercialize cooling systems like CDUs, manifolds, and cold plates, working closely with senior engineers across the full development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical design skills, interest in thermal and fluid systems, and an entrepreneurial mindset

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1–5 years in product development or related engineering.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and/or Creo.
  • Experience with piping, fluid systems, or cooling equipment.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and development of new products for data center infrastructure applications.
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, layouts, and engineering drawings using SolidWorks and/or Creo.
  • Assist with the design of liquid cooling systems, piping layouts, manifolds, and hydraulic circuits.
  • Support the development of modular and containerized data center solutions.
  • Participate in engineering calculations, component selection, and design evaluations.
  • Assist with prototype assembly, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to develop innovative cooling and mechanical solutions.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and test reports.
  • Support Design Reviews, risk assessments, and product development activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to improve product designs and support production readiness.
  • Participate in root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for design or manufacturing issues.
  • Work with suppliers to evaluate components, materials, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies and industry trends related to data center infrastructure and cooling technologies.
  • Support product launches and transition activities from development to production.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow technical capabilities within a collaborative engineering environment.
