Job summary

Bystronic is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical design for assigned products and to drive localization projects in the U.S. You will work with suppliers to interpret models, drawings, and GD&T, and lead efforts to improve production, quality and productivity.

The role requires a 4 year degree in engineering, 3+ years of manufacturing experience, and strong 3D modeling skills using SolidWorks, Creo Direct, or DraftSight, with travel up to 10% and a focus on Lean manufacturing

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
Three+ years engineering experience in manufacturing or similar environment preferred.
Advanced 3D modeling with SolidWorks; Creo Direct and DraftSight beneficial.

Responsibilities

Serve as the mechanical engineering owner for assigned products, processes, localization projects, and supplier technical issues.
Support localization of equipment for manufacture or assembly in the United States by assessing drawings, specs, materials, and supplier capability.
Interpret models, drawings, specs, GD&T, materials for sourcing decisions and prepare design packages for RFQs.
Resolve supplier design questions and evaluate Engineering Change Requests.
Lead implementation of changes and coordinate with manufacturing and quality to improve product quality and productivity.
