Job summary

Xcimer Energy, based in Denver, CO, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, build, and operate laser and mechanical systems for its excimer-laser‑based IFE technology. The role emphasizes hands‑on problem solving and cross‑functional collaboration in a high‑tech, manufacturing‑driven environment.

The successful candidate will contribute to 3D modeling, documentation, and prototype support while interfacing with laser, optical, and manufacturing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience focusing on industrial equipment design.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software, NX preferred.
• U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models, detail part drawings, assemblies, P&IDs and interface control documents.
• Design structures and pressure vessels, perform proof-tests to code standards.
• Communicate design with cross-functional teams (mechanical, systems, laser, optical, manufacturing).
• Support procurement and oversee assembly of prototype laser amplifiers and conditioning equipment.
• Participate in concept studies for laser applications in IFE and other uses.
• Assist in writing work instructions, test plans, and integration documentation.
• Provide production support and first-time engineering builds.
• Contribute to design reviews and streamline engineering processes.
• Collaborate with materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier selection.
