Xcimer Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer - Pulsed Power to lead the design, integration, and operation of high voltage pulsed power systems for lasers used in inertial fusion energy. This on-site Denver role involves prototype work through product development, ensuring performance across the lifecycle in a dynamic R&D setting.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical, Nuclear, or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in mechanical engineering with focus on high voltage pulsed power design.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD (NX preferred).
• Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Experience designing simple PCBs or flex circuits.
• Experience with complex integrated system design (pulsed power, lasers, high voltages).
• US citizenship or eligible status to work in the US.

Responsibilities

• Develop and specify pulsed power generator components to meet requirements.
• Design equipment using NX CAD and document interfaces.
• Collaborate with vendors for custom and off-the-shelf devices.
• Ensure integration of Marx and generator architecture through analysis and testing.
• Lead design efforts for prototypes and finalize designs.
• Troubleshoot issues and propose practical improvements.
• Coordinate with mechanical, laser, controls, and pulsed power teams.
