Job summary

1X in Hayward is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help build the Joints & Body systems for the NEO humanoid robot. You will own critical body components and drive designs from concept through prototyping, validation, and production.

You will work hands-on with hardware to deliver lightweight, robust, and manufacturable solutions that perform safely around people, influencing mobility, strength, reliability, and overall capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience designing mechanical or electromechanical systems.
• Experience owning complex assemblies from concept to release drawings.

Responsibilities

• Build mechanical systems for humanoid robot movement.
• Own body and joint architecture from concept to production.
• Iterate designs using testing and real-world robot performance.
• Collaborate with controls, electrical, manufacturing, reliability, and supply chain.
