Job summary

1X is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and deliver lightweight, integrated structures for the NEO home robot. You will optimize stiffness, strength, and mass while ensuring manufacturability at scale.

You’ll work with cross-functional teams to drive designs from concept through production, applying FEA, testing, and DFM principles to meet performance, reliability, and cost goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in designing integrated mechanical systems within packaging constraints.
• Experience with 3D CAD and structural analysis for production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Design and release structural components and assemblies meeting performance and cost targets.
• Develop highly integrated structures packaging actuators and electronics.
• Use FEA and first-principles analysis to optimize stiffness, strength and mass.
• Conduct structural tests and validate analytical models.
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal, materials and manufacturing teams.
• Support DFM/DFX, tolerance analysis, and production ramp.
