Job summary

S&B Engineers and Constructors is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to support engineering activities under supervision. You will assist with basic design sketches, data collection, and equipment-related documentation while gaining exposure to field data gathering and vendor interactions.

The internship offers hands-on experience in a multi-disciplinary EPC environment, including plant start-ups and collaboration with senior engineers. Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Internship requires completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering.
• Working knowledge of various computer software packages and automated design equipment is required.
• Previous internship experience is preferred but not required.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Prepares basic design sketches and performs calculations to support equipment, components, structures, or systems design.
• Conducts field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Gathers data to prepare equipment specifications, inquiries, and requisitions for approvals.
• Evaluates vendors’ bids and drawings to ensure specifications are met for simple equipment and specialty items.
• Assists in preparing equipment lists, piping line lists and specialty item lists.
• Participates in preparing design guides, guide specifications and contract proposals.
• Participates in plant start-ups.
