Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in the mechanical design process, preparing drawings, layouts, and details.
• Help develop HVAC and plumbing designs from concept to construction completion.
• Prepare design calculations and assist with technical analyses.
• Conduct research on new technologies and applicable code requirements.
• Assist in writing engineering reports and project documentation.
• Follow drafting standards and assist in construction document production.
• Coordinate with internal staff and other design professionals.
• Meet project deadlines and manage own calendar.
• Use tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office.
• Participate actively in meetings and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Description

The Mechanical Engineering Intern supports our mechanical team members by assisting with mechanical systems design, documentation, and construction administration for a variety of projects. This role provides hands-on experience in engineering analysis, drafting, coordination, and project support from concept through construction.

Interns will gain exposure to real world design applications while developing technical proficiency, communication skills, and an understanding of industry standards.

Design & Engineering Support

• Participate in the mechanical design process, preparing accurate and thorough drawings, layouts, and details.
• Assist in developing HVAC and plumbing designs from concept through completion of construction.
• Prepare engineering design calculations and assist with technical analysis.
• Conduct research on new technologies and applicable code requirements.
• Assist in writing engineering reports and project documentation.

Document Production & Coordination

• Follow EP drafting standards and maintain consistent sheet and background setup.
• Support preparation of construction documents with a high level of accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate effectively with internal staff and other design professionals.
• Meet assigned project deadlines (occasional overtime may be required).
• Use tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.

Requirements
