Job summary

3D Architech in the Cambridge/Somerville area is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to gain hands-on experience across the full development cycle, translating concepts, sketches, and drawings into practical CAD models and fixtures for testing.

In this internship you will assist in fabrication, assembly, and evaluation of devices, maintain accurate data records, and contribute to design revisions and documentation in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Strong CAD capability with SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Ability to translate design concepts into practical CAD drawings.
• Attention to detail in measurements and data recording.
• Willingness to learn and contribute in a hands-on startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings, focusing on manufacturability and tolerances.
• Assist fabrication, assembly, and improvement of test fixtures and evaluation setups.
• Perform measurements and testing per SOPs and record results clearly.
• Organize technical data using Office and engineering software.
• Document design revisions and procedures to aid knowledge sharing.
• Collaborate with team on design, fabrication, testing, and problem solving.
