Job summary

Narda-MITEQ in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a Mechanical Designer Intern to support our engineering team. You will help design, document, and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software, creating and updating 2D drawings and 3D models, and contributing to manufacturing documentation.

You will gain hands‑on experience across the product development lifecycle, work with experienced engineers, and learn how to apply GD&T, BOMs, and engineering standards in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Experience with 2D/3D CAD software.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 2D engineering drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD.
• Develop 3D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor.
• Work with the Engineering Team, generate detailed manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and assembly documentation.
• Update existing CAD models and drawings to reflect engineering change notifications (ECNs).
• Ensure drawings comply with company drafting standards, GD&T practices, and manufacturing requirements.
• Organize and maintain CAD files and engineering documentation using a PDM system when applicable.
• Support other engineering and design activities as assigned
