Job summary

The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc. in Cambridge, MA is seeking a summer intern in the Mechanical Engineering Division.

You will be exposed to a broad range of technical challenges where you can apply engineering principles to design and analyze components and collaborate with engineers and technicians to fabricate hardware systems. You will work with 3-D CAD software such as SolidWorks or PTC Creo and may run simulations with Ansys to assess performance.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Availability for summer internship with flexible hours.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and interest in mechanical design and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance engineering solutions for challenging problems.
• Implement, test, perform analysis, and provide documentation support.
• Generate and present test reports with data visualizations and conclusions.
• Acquire practical knowledge of processes, procedures, equipment, and systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
