This full-time role supports HVAC design, drafting, and project collaboration, with hands-on learning in a dynamic engineering environment. You will create technical drawings using AutoCAD or Revit, assist senior engineers, review plans for codes and energy efficiency, and participate in design meetings to help deliver reliable building systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, building codes, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to create accurate drawings.
• Willingness to learn new tools and techniques in HVAC.
• Knowledge of Build-Ops platform desired
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Must maintain a company vehicle
• U.S. citizenship or a current, valid U.S. work permit is mandatory
• Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

Description

Job Summary: Alliance Group is seeking an entry-level, full-time Mechanical Engineer / HVAC Engineer / Draftsperson based in Essex Junction, VT to join our growing team.

In this dual role, you will support the design and development of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, while creating technical drawings and plans using CAD software. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals with a background in HVAC systems, engineering, or drafting who are eager to learn and contribute to a dynamic engineering team. Individuals must demonstrate excellent communication skills, as well as an aptitude for problem solving, time management, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and analyzing HVAC systems to ensure they meet both client needs and industry standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate system performance, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare detailed HVAC system layouts, schematics, and other technical drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar CAD software.
• Review and revise HVAC plans and drawings to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to building codes and regulations.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems into overall building designs.

Essential Qualifications and Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, building codes, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools).
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to create accurate, high-quality technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
• A passion for engineering and a desire to grow in the HVAC field.
• Knowledge of Build-Ops platform desired
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
