Job summary

Futures Consulting, LLC, an Architecture and Engineering firm, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in HVAC design, construction documents, and calculations. The role focuses on design and production, with collaboration across project teams to meet deadlines and budgets.

The ideal candidate has a BS in engineering, 3–6 years of commercial design experience, and FE/EIT is highly preferred. PE on track is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in engineering degree from an accredited university preferred.
• 3–6 years of mechanical design experience on commercial projects.
• FE/EIT highly preferred; PE on track is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior engineers on the technical execution of project duties.
• Assist the project team in producing projects while balancing deadlines and budgets to maintain quality.
• Assist in developing technical construction documents including drawings and specifications.
• Under supervision, perform engineering calculations and system designs.

Job description

Successful and growing Architecture and Engineering firm is seeking a qualified Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have :

• Bachelor of Science in engineering degree from an accredited university preferred
• 3 - 6 years practical experience with mechanical design, specifically on commercial projects
• FE/EIT highly preferred
• On the path to becoming a PE preferred, not required
• The role will be +80% design and production, with the remainder being some level of coordination and project management
• HVAC design including heat load calculations, system layout and duct sizing
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD 2010 or newer
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products
• The ability to read, write and speak fluent English is required
• Great attitude and looking to learn and grow in a team environment

Daily activities will consist of :

• Working with senior engineering team members in the technical execution of the assigned project duties
• Assist the project team in the production of projects, balancing deadlines and budgets to maintain the highest quality
• Assist senior staff in the development of technical construction documents including drawings and specifications
• Under appropriate supervision, actively practice engineering calculations and perform system designs
