Job summary

Gresham Smith is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-in-Training in Nashville to support building engineering projects. You will assist in preparing mechanical reports, plans, and specifications, and collaborate across teams to deliver design solutions for critical infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in building mechanical/plumbing/fire protection design, knowledge of Revit, and a readiness to grow through in-house learning and licensure support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in engineering design of mechanical, plumbing, and/or fire protection for building projects.
• E.I.T license or PE license required.
• Demonstrated knowledge using Revit.
• Knowledge of engineering and architectural principles, practices, and techniques.
• Beginning knowledge of codes and regulations.
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing mechanical reports, plans, and specifications for building projects.
• Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate engineering work.
• Assist in research.
• Assist in selecting and sizing equipment for building systems.
• Participate in contract bidding and administration; monitor project progress.
• Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff; communicate with project team and stakeholders.
