Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. in Nashville is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I to help deliver energy-efficient building solutions and greener environments.

You will be mentored by experienced engineers and will mentor designers, performing load calculations, sizing layouts, and evaluating equipment. As you gain project experience, you will lead mechanical project teams, write specifications, and participate in client meetings with other consultants, supporting construction-phase work.

Qualifications

• BSME/BSAE from ABET accredited school in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Non-academic internship.
• Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities/student organizations preferred.
• EIT certification (Passed the FE exam) a plus.
• Internship experience in the MEP consulting engineering field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform load calculations and determine system sizing and layouts.
• Calculate equipment sizes and select equipment; complete field surveys and review shop drawings.
• Lead mechanical project teams and write specifications.
• Participate in project meetings with clients and consultants; support construction-phase work.
