Job summary

GUNTHERS, a Utah-based HVAC specialist, seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to join our in-office team in American Fork. You will create 3D HVAC and plumbing drawings, perform load calculations, and manage BIM360 coordination with suppliers and clients.

Ideal candidates have Revit MEP experience (2020–2024) and strong communication skills. Travel to customer sites is required; we offer competitive pay and a supportive family culture.

Qualifications

• 1+ years HVAC and/or plumbing design experience
• Experience with Revit MEP 2020-2024 and BIM 360/Navisworks
• Flexible work hours and organized, customer service oriented
• Strong verbal and written communication; team participation
• Client/site coordination and travel as needed
• PE license is a bonus

Responsibilities

• Create 3D HVAC and plumbing drawings, sizing and tagging
• Update schedules, notes, and specs
• BIM360 setup, coordination and management
• Interface with equipment suppliers as needed
• Perform HVAC and plumbing load calculations
• Source cut sheets for equipment and integrate into project sheets
• Coordinate with clients and internal team
• Occasional site visits to verify equipment and sizing

Mechanical Engineer I - HVAC & Plumbing Job Description:

• Responsible for 3D HVAC and plumbing drawings, connecting systems, sizing and tagging
• Ensures schedules, key notes, and specs are up to date
• BIM360 setup, coordination and management
• Interface with equipment suppliers as needed
• Performs HVAC and Plumbing load calculations
• Source cut sheets for all equipment in project including setup and augment sheets
• Insert HVAC loads, plumbing loads, gas loads/diagram, DSB reports, custom equipment cut sheets, into job sheets.
• Coordinate with clients and internal team with/on behalf of project engineer as needed
• Take site visits as needed to confirm existing equipment/sizing or plan conformance
• Participates in occasional installations for different types of equipment--usually your own designs
• Builds positive relationships with customers and team
• Maintains a positive attitude and supports GUNTHERS Core Values and Mission
• Completes any additional tasks as assigned by Engineering Managers

Mechanical Engineer I - HVAC & Plumbing Job Qualifications:

• Experience with HVAC and/or Plumbing installation and specifications helpful
• Experience working with Revit MEP 2020-2024 required, skills in BIM 360, Navisworks
• Flexible work hours
• Organized, customer service oriented, with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Remains calm and productive under deadlines.
• Self-starter, self-managed and productivity-focused candidate .
• Strong and professional verbal and written communication skills
• Participate in whole-team meetings, morning standup, schematics, and peer reviews
• 1+ years of HVAC and/or plumbing design experience , but not required
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) is a bonus
• Same-day (usually just a few hours) travel to customer sites is required.
• Follows GUNTHERS dress and appearance standards.
