Job summary

GUNTHERS Heating|Cooling|Plumbing seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to join our Utah-based team in an in-office role. You will develop 3D HVAC and plumbing designs, size systems, and coordinate with suppliers and internal staff for project success.

Responsibilities include load calculations, BIM360 coordination, site visits as needed, and contributing to positive client relationships while upholding our core values. This is a full-time, on-site position in Utah.

Qualifications

• Experience with HVAC and/or Plumbing installation and specifications helpful.
• Experience with Revit MEP 2020-2024 required; BIM 360, Navisworks proficiency preferred.
• Flexible work hours.
• Organized, customer-service oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
• Calm under deadlines, self-starter and productivity-focused.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• 1+ years HVAC/plumbing design experience preferred; PE bonus.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D HVAC and plumbing drawings, connect systems, size and tag components.
• Ensure schedules, notes and specs are up to date.
• Set up and coordinate BIM360; manage coordination tasks.
• Interface with equipment suppliers as needed.
• Perform HVAC and plumbing load calculations.
• Source cut sheets for equipment and enter data into project sheets.
• Coordinate with clients and internal team; support project engineer as needed.
• Attend site visits to verify equipment sizing and conformance.
• Support occasional installations for own designs and build customer relationships.
