Job summary

Oracle seeks a mechanical design engineer to independently design and develop mechanical systems, enclosures, and packaging for reliable, high-performance hardware. You will use CAD tools to create 3D models, refine designs with cross-functional teams, and support prototype-to-production transitions.

Your work includes structural and reliability analysis, collaboration with manufacturing, and leadership in thermal management and testing to ensure product quality and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Experience designing mechanical systems, enclosures, and packaging.
• Ability to review material strength and reliability and identify failure points.
• Experience coordinating with Operations and suppliers for prototype-to-production transitions.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electronic parts, components, board layout and board planning, mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging, ensuring reliability, performance, and manufacturability.
• Contributes to setting thermal cooling strategies and designs mechanical architecture for server generations from feasibility to production.
• Uses CAD tools to develop 3D models and detailed mechanical designs with cross-functional collaboration.
• Addresses stress, strain, and FEA results to ensure mechanical strength and reliability.
• Ensures manufacturability within cost and quality constraints with Operations and External Manufacturers.
• Oversees prototype builds, testing, and validation to meet design goals.
• Collaborates with electrical engineers and suppliers to optimize performance and cost.
• Manages engineering project design reviews and documentation.
• Leads thermal management analysis with CFD tools and validates results.
