Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Senior Hardware Thermal Analysis Engineer (SMTS) to develop and validate thermal and structural performance for ruggedized electro-mechanical systems used in harsh environments and aerospace programs.

You will work with design teams, conduct analytical modeling and finite element analysis, mentor junior engineers, and help mitigate technical risks across satellite components and advanced electronics packaging.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Requires 5-7 years of Engineering experience with Bachelor's Degree; 3-5 years with Master's Degree.

Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate performance, functionality, and durability of hardware products.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of hardware products to ensure compliance with specifications, requirements and quality standards.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware defects and implement preventive measures to minimize future occurrences.
  • Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction.
  • Contribute to requirements development, propose ways forward, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements.
  • Perform analytical modeling and finite element analysis of complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and provide constructive feedback.
