Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficient use of CAD/analysis software, SolidWorks preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, heat transfer, vibration, and structural dynamics.
• Experience in electronics packaging and cooling design.
• Familiarity with GD&T and Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Must be a US Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Design the packaging for ruggedized equipment with electrical and mechanical elements.
• Perform and interpret thermal simulation analyses aligned with military standard environmental requirements.
• Produce build-to drawings and data packages and collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues and realize parts.
• Collaborate with hardware designers to optimize circuit card layout with attention to thermal performance.
• Work across the engineering organization to understand requirements and report status.
