Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an Engineer - Mechanical III to support production of mechanical release and separation mechanisms for New Glenn. You will work with design and test teams to ensure hardware meets acceptance criteria and supports launch manifest.

Role emphasizes hands-on build support, system testing, nonconformance disposition, and production sustainment. Strong CAD/FEA usage and a collaborative mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years in aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures or mechanisms.
• Experience with mechanical mechanism assembly, integration, and test.
• Production support of flight hardware including nonconformance disposition and acceptance.
• Integrated system-level testing of mechanical assemblies or separation systems.
• Cad tools (Creo/Windchill) and FEA tools (ANSYS) used in design and validation.

Responsibilities

• Provide production engineering support for mechanical release and separation mechanism assemblies.
• Execute and support integrated system-level testing of separation mechanisms.
• Disposition hardware nonconformances and support MRB activities.
• Support hardware builds including mechanism assembly, integration, and acceptance testing.
• Develop and maintain production procedures, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate with design engineering on production issues, design changes, and improvements.
• Support test planning, execution, data reduction, and analysis for production acceptance tests.
• Work with cross-functional teams on materials, processes, and suppliers.
