Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Engineer - Mechanical III to support mechanical release and separation mechanism assemblies for New Glenn payload deployment systems. You’ll work with design and test teams, performing hands-on build support, integrated system testing, and production sustainment to ensure hardware meets acceptance criteria for launch readiness.

The role requires a BS in engineering and 5+ years in aerospace mechanisms, with CAD (Creo/Windchill), FEA (ANSYS), and GD&T (ASME Y14.5).

Qualifications

  • BS in engineering or related field required.
  • Experience with mechanical mechanism assembly, integration and test.
  • Experience with flight hardware nonconformance disposition and acceptance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production engineering support for mechanical release and separation mechanisms.
  • Execute and support integrated system-level testing of separation mechanisms.
  • Disposition hardware nonconformances and support MRB activities.
  • Support hardware builds, assembly, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Develop/maintain production procedures, work instructions, and acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate with design teams on production issues and improvements.
  • Support test planning, data reduction, and analysis for production tests.
  • Collaborate with materials/suppliers for world-class aerospace hardware.
