Job summary

Beyond New Horizons (BNH) seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to support the NFAC wind tunnel operations at Moffett Field, CA. The role involves evaluating and applying standard mechanical engineering methods to support wind tunnel testing, facility operations, and maintenance within the NFAC complex.

Under direction of an experienced engineer, you will lead design tasks, coordinate with technicians, perform hand calculations, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Accredited B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• H07: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
• H08: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
• Current U. S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform work within mechanical engineering, including calculations, specifications, plans, investigations, surveys, structures, systems or equipment.
• Design wind tunnel model components and interface hardware; develop design drawing packages; review hand calculations for mechanical, structural, and stress analyses; work with customers and test teams to establish design requirements; lead projects through lifecycle.
• Field work is expected; experience maintaining facility mechanical, electrical and control systems is desirable.
• Communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team and support multiple projects simultaneously.
• Wear PPE as required and adhere to safety policies.
