Job summary

BNH, in partnership with AEDC, seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to support wind tunnel testing and facility operations at NFAC. You will evaluate, select, and apply standard mechanical engineering methods to support wind tunnel testing and maintenance, leading projects through full lifecycles and coordinating technicians and contractors. The role requires a B.S.

in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 2+ years (H07) or 5+ years (H08) experience, and the ability to obtain security clearance. U.S.

Qualifications

• Accredited B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• H07: Minimum of 2 years of experience; H08: Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and AEDC network; U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical engineering work including calculations, plans, investigations, surveys, and equipment reviews.
• Design wind tunnel model components and interface hardware; create design drawing packages; review hand calculations.
• Lead projects through lifecycle: planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and close out.
• Coordinate NFAC technicians and outside contractors; manage facility systems and assets.
• Troubleshoot and create repair work orders; support predictive maintenance initiatives.
• Engage in hands-on field work; multidisciplinary work across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
