Job summary

WHOOP, based in Boston, MA, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to design improvements at scale, sustain manufacturing yields, and ensure stability based on customer feedback.

You will prototype, test, document, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Electrical, Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality, while partnering with global suppliers and contract manufacturers. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years designing complex mechanical products
• Experience with SolidWorks CAD and DFx/DFM feedback
• Familiarity with second sourcing and supplier qualification
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping tools
• Strong communication with cross-functional teams and external partners
• Experience in consumer electronics or wearables preferred
• Familiarity with validation testing methods and statistical analysis tools
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing processes and complex testing fixture design
• Startup or fast-paced environment experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Own critical parts of current generation Whoop Hardware Products
• Design, prototype, and test complex mechanical components around microelectronics, meeting strict requirements
• Develop and present multiple design solutions for complex challenges and document design processes
• Create technical documentation such as 3D files, drawings, BOMs, and ECOs
• Communicate engineering requests and conduct DfM reviews with vendors/contract manufacturers
• Own and drive second sourcing initiatives for mechanical components and assemblies
• Support verification/validation plans using DOE methodologies
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement design improvements
• Collaborate with senior engineers to evaluate new technologies and manufacturing methods
• Travel up to 20% to contract manufacturers and suppliers internationally
