Job summary

WHOOP, based in Boston, MA, is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineering Lead to drive electrical development across our wearable hardware platform. This role will own critical electrical decisions and work cross-functionally to scale performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.

You will lead a team of engineers, oversee product lifecycles, and partner with Mechanical, Firmware, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure robust system integration and scalable production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering across product development and/or high-volume manufacturing.
• Strong foundation in analog, digital, power systems, and mixed-signal design.
• Proven ability to deliver hardware at scale.
• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring engineers and driving technical execution through others.
• Experience with ECAD tools (Altium preferred) and strong lab/debug skills.
• Effective cross-functional collaborator with strong communication skills.
• Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers, providing technical direction and mentorship.
• Act as technical lead across hardware programs with strategic guidance.
• Architect, design, and validate low-power, low-noise, mixed-signal electronics.
• Drive performance optimization, DFM, reliability, cost reduction, and second-sourcing.
• Collaborate with Mechanical, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams for integration.
• Own electrical development across the product lifecycle.
• Lead root cause investigations for field and production issues with validated solutions.
• Collaborate with suppliers/CMs to support builds and improve yield.
