Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design, modify and evaluate mechanical components for R&D and sustaining production. The role coordinates with drafters, application engineers and machine shop personnel as needed.

The position requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and 4+ years of experience in designing components for industrial use, with proficiency in 3D modeling software and strong communication skills. ASME codes knowledge and measurement-instrument experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years designing mechanical components/systems for industrial applications.
• Proficient in 3D modeling software to design parts and drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of ASME B31.1, B31.3 and BPVC preferred.
• Experience with measurement instruments and product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to routine analyses and tests for new designs or processes.
• Write test procedures and evaluate design/test data to prepare specs.
• Recommend design approaches to meet production requirements.
• Evaluate production non-conformances to determine root causes and corrective actions.
• Contribute to project planning, estimating effort and cost.
• Provide technical clarification toSales groups and customers.
• Identify and implement opportunities for product/process improvements.
