Job summary

Beyond New Horizons in California seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to evaluate, select, and apply standard mechanical engineering methods to support wind tunnel testing, facility operations, and maintenance at NFAC. You will work under an experienced engineer to develop design packages, perform calculations, and coordinate with customers and test teams.

Qualifications

• Accredited B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• H07: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field.
• H08: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
• Current U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Perform design work and calculations for mechanical systems and wind tunnel components.
• Develop design drawing packages (SolidWorks/AutoCAD experience desirable) and review hand calculations.
• Lead projects through lifecycle including planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and close out.
• Coordinate with customers and test teams; supervise technicians and contractors; manage assets and maintenance.
• Support multidisciplinary facility operations including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical motors, PLCs, and instrumentation.
