Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Armament Systems Business Unit in Plymouth, MN. The role involves translating contract requirements into build and test specifications and creating manufacturing documentation for programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of experience as Mechanical Engineer; or master’s degree in lieu of experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary personnel.
• US citizenship required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Translate contract requirements and specifications into build and test requirements.
• Create, publish, review and maintain documentation for manufacturing programs (e.g., TDP reviews).
• Develop task releases and introduce into the manufacturing system.
• Prepare for and support Build Readiness and Production Readiness Reviews.
• Create test requests and support test readiness reviews.
• Coordinate production efforts across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing, and Test.
• Travel to production, test and supplier facilities up to ~25%.
