Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the manufacture and test of medium caliber ammunition. You will join an integrated product team, providing engineering support to distributed locations and coordinating with internal and external groups.

The role involves reviewing documentation, developing processes, supporting testing, and ensuring compliance with performance specs. Travel up to 25% is required."

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience; master's degree may substitute.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Strong communication with customers, program management, and engineering management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Translate contract requirements and specifications into build and test requirements.
• Create, publish, review and maintain documentation for new and existing manufacturing programs.
• Manage engineering changes, release and incorporation into the process.
• Develop manufacturing work instructions and BOMs/routings.
• Coordinate production efforts across Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing and Test.
