Job summary

RTX in Rockford, IL is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to tackle fluid systems and pump challenges. You will collaborate with manufacturing, testing, and quality teams to enhance product reliability and production throughput.

You will perform root-cause analysis, drive design and process improvements, and own tasks from issue resolution to implementation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree; in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Support fluid systems and pump technology activities in manufacturing, assembly, troubleshooting, and testing.
• Troubleshoot production assembly and product acceptance tests using root cause analysis.
• Assist design and process improvements to address defects and performance issues.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to improve quality and efficiency.
• Participate in field issue investigations and support corrective actions.
• Communicate findings and risks to internal teams and stakeholders for timely resolution.
• Identify risks and help mitigate to minimize delays.
• Attend project status meetings to review progress and priorities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to pump performance and manufacturing processes.
