Job summary

Fill-Rite is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Engineering team in Indiana. You will design and develop fluid-handling products, create 3D models and drawings, and drive prototypes, testing, and iterative design improvements to enhance performance and manufacturability.

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to support launches, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement across the product line.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years product development or mechanical design experience preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical fluid-handling products, including pumps, meters, and related equipment.
• Create 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using SolidWorks and other engineering tools.
• Develop prototypes, conduct testing, analyze results, and refine designs to optimize performance and manufacturability.
• Perform engineering analyses, including material selection, structural evaluations, fluid dynamics, and failure investigations.
• Ensure products meet applicable regulatory and compliance standards, including UL, CE, ATEX, IECEx, and CSA requirements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to support successful product launches and ongoing production.
• Manage engineering changes, maintain Bills of Material, and ensure documentation accuracy within ERP and document control systems.
• Support legacy products, customer-specific solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost, and performance.
