Job summary

RTX is seeking a Controls Project Engineer in Rockford, IL to lead cross-functional engineering teams, develop and manage project plans, and ensure milestones are met. The role interfaces with program management and customers to deliver on contract requirements.

Responsibilities include risk management, control of hardware interfaces, and rigorous change tracking, with a strong emphasis on schedule, budget, and milestone adherence.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years experience.
• Experience in project planning and management (schedules, budgets, action plans).
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and interfacing with customers and program management.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional engineering teams to execute development and test activities.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to meet milestones.
• Define and manage engineering product development processes, including reviews and milestone reviews (PDRs/CDRs).
• Serve as primary technical interface between Program Management, Functional Management, and customers.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies, maintain risk register.
• Plan program activities and allocate resources to align with contracts.
