Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and power plant engineering knowledge to design and analyze power plant systems.

You will prepare calculations, evaluations, and technical reports to support client recommendations, conduct equipment sizing and optimization, and collaborate with project teams on system design and selection; occasional travel to client and vendor sites is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from ABET-accredited program with strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and energy conversion.
• 3+ years of experience in the power industry.
• Preparation of calculations and reports; strong technical report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics to power plant design and analysis.
• Prepare calculations, evaluations, and technical reports to support client recommendations and reviews.
• Support project teams with system design, modification, sizing, optimization, and equipment selection; travel as needed.
