Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree (At time of hire).
• 0–3 years of related engineering, design or construction experience or equivalent experience.
• Good written and oral communication skills; ability to interact with production and design teams, customer representatives, and equipment manufacturers.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for routine design calculations and drawing development for construction, maintenance, and repair of maritime vessels and shipboard systems including structural, propulsion, electrical, and hydraulic mechanics.
• Complies with Austal USA’s employee handbook general guidelines, company procedures and policies.
