Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Mechanical Engineer for our Dallas, TX office. You will help design, develop, test, and inspect mechanical systems on infrastructure, building, and construction projects under supervision.

You will collect site data, assist with analysis and load calculations, prepare drawings, and help ensure safety and compliance. A Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and strong analytical skills are required; internship or EIT is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with design/build concepts and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing site data, surveys, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Support basic professional mechanical engineering work including research, inspections, and conformance with rules and permits.
  • Perform routine engineering functions and provide entry-level technical assistance on design requirements and load calculations.
  • Generate accurate documentation and specifications using electronic systems and field notes.
  • Follow safety guidelines and project procedures; complete training on assigned tasks.
