Job summary

Copeland in Cudahy, WI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our hybrid team. You will design and engineer our single screw and reciprocating compressor units, focusing on feature improvements, cost reduction, and ensuring manufacturability.

You will review designs, ensure compliance with ASME, UL, NFPA, and AWS, collaborate with Sales, suppliers, and manufacturing, and support field service with technical guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with 3D CAD design.

Responsibilities

• Review component and system designs for refrigeration and gas compression equipment.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and specifications (ASME, UL, NFPA, AWS).
• Lead and coordinate development of engineering documentation for projects.
• Collaborate with Sales to evaluate customer specifications and support product configurators.
• Interpret and apply codes to ensure compliance and manufacturability.
• Review and approve production drawings to improve quality and cost efficiency.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, sales, customers and field teams.
