Job summary

Copeland is seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer for a hybrid role in Cudahy, WI. You will review codes, create P&IDs, perform calculations, and collaborate with design and production teams to drive efficient, compliant systems.

The role requires a Mechanical Engineering background with 1+ years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, and the ability to travel 5–10%. US work authorization is required and sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 1+ years of experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software.
• Ability to travel 5-10%.
• U.S. work authorization; sponsorship will not be provided.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret codes and standards (ASME, CRN, NFPA, AWS, IBC, etc.) for system compliance.
• Make system component selections and generate a project P&ID; confer with Mechanical Design Engineers on standard products.
• Perform calculations and design reviews with production; develop custom project documentation.
• Review and approve production drawings for custom systems; suggest design improvements to reduce costs or boost efficiency.
• Serve as a technical resource to shop, customers, sales and other departments to address questions.
• Prepare specifications for custom equipment and coordinate with procurement for quotations.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve design issues and drive process improvements.
