Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering; MS preferred.
• 3-5 years of electromechanical product design/support experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Familiarity with structural and thermal FEA software.
• Grasp of basic electrical theory.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and perform tolerance assessments; ASME Y-14.5 is a plus.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks 2018 or higher.
• Ability to conduct experiments and basic testing; familiarity with measurement tools.
• Good communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of High-Speed IO Interconnect and Cable devices or components to meet specified design requirements.
• Perform Mechanical Analyses using standard tools and participate in design reviews.
• Support Verification/Validation of Design and assist in prototype hardware development and environmental testing.
• Prepare Documentation: drawings, engineering specifications, reports and design review packages.
• Support Continuous Improvement: conduct failure analysis and lead customization on product lines.
• Lead sustainment on assigned product lines: provide Mechanical Engineering support to production; manage material issues and root-cause analyses.
