Job summary

Dennis Group’s Mechanical Engineers design and implement mechanical systems as part of a broad engineering and architectural team in designing and building food and beverage production facilities. The role focuses on HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression systems, with responsibilities spanning from design through execution on multiple projects.

Applicants should have a BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and 4–7 years in energy, drainage, line loss calculations, and CAD/BIM tools.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of work experience in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
• 4-7 years of work experience with HVAC/plumbing/fire protection designs and specifications.
• 4-7 years of work experience performing calculations in energy, drainage, line loss, etc.
• 4-7 years of experience working with computer operations for engineering design programs and computer aided drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.)
• Basic report writing and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Execute engineering on a project from design through execution.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
• Code reviews for HVAC/plumbing/fire protection designs.
• Create mechanical schedules and P&ID’s, equipment layout plans.
• Bid package preparation: scope of work, bid list, and milestones.
• Provide cost estimation and scheduling to PMs.
• Discipline lead for commissioning activities.
• Vendor and sub-contractor selection and bid review.
