Job summary

Dennis Group’s Mechanical Engineers design and implement mechanical systems for food and beverage facilities, including HVAC, plumbing/utility, and fire suppression. You will help size equipment, perform loads, and coordinate with vendors and team members.

As an intern or student engineer, you will contribute to drafting, calculations, P&ID development, and construction documentation while gaining hands-on experience on live projects. Travel up to 25% to site locations will be required.

Qualifications

• Sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• GPA: 3.0 or above.
• Familiarity with heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
• Perform code reviews for HVAC/plumbing/fire protection designs.
• Perform mass energy balance calculations.
• Perform drainage and line loss calculations.
• Perform flow test analysis.
• Sanitary design considerations (layouts, process exhaust).
• Draft P&ID’s and equipment layout plans.
• Develop mechanical/plant utility systems and construction specifications.
• Create project documents such as calculations and drawings.
